Maysara Group

Governance

How we govern ourselves.

The group handles money and data that belong to other people. This is how we protect both.

Governance

Governments, institutions and citizens rely on us.

We build to global standards — because we serve people for whom this money is everything they have.

Security of data

Customer data is encrypted, and signing keys live in the device’s own secure hardware — not on a server we control.

Access is enforced at the row level in the database, so each person can only ever read their own records.

Regulation

Financial operations follow the law of the country they run in. We do not offer a money service in a country where we are not permitted to.

We are working towards connecting to Somalia’s national instant payment system (SIPS) with the Central Bank.

An auditable ledger

Every movement of money is written to a record that cannot be deleted. Nothing is edited — entries are only ever added.

Every transfer is a two-phase commit, so if it fails part-way the money is never stranded — it can always be reversed.

People come first

We design for the person with a basic phone as much as the person with a new one — in clear Somali, not translated English.

Somali is the first language of every product in the group, not an afterthought bolted on later.

Where we stand today

The group does not hold an ISO 27001 certificate and has not yet completed an external audit. Our systems are built to meet those requirements when the time comes — but we will not claim what we have not yet earned.

Partnership & investment

One group. One backbone. The door is open.

Government, bank, international institution or investor — we work with people who believe East Africa is being built now.
